The mattress felt like it was about 10 years old. Could hear the water running from other rooms through the rooms in my wall. Not great when you want to get to sleep early. Needs a bit refurb to bring it up to modern day standards. Read our transparency report to learn mJersey, United KingdomReviewed September 2, 2014 having stayed at the Rex before but many years ago I was under no illusion as to what itwould be like, a nice small, clean typically English seaside hotel with friendly staff, apart fromthe manager was what shall we say a little aloof, the cleaners do an absolutely fantastic jobthe rooms were spotless. The staff a breakfast were very attentive and nothing was too muchtrouble . Now we come onto the evening meal I was looking forward to it and other guests said how good it was so we book a table on Sunday evening and I think the chef was on holiday my starter of Brie was good but my rump steak was the worst steak and inedible apart from the factI asked for it to be served with just salad but received burnt dry veg and chips. As I am not planning another visit to Weymouth in the the near future I will not be staying and eating at The tip cheap and cheerful but mind the noise of the church bells ring every hour and the half hour so don't open the windows. Read our transparency report to learn PLondon, United KingdomReviewed August 23, 2014 Very helpful and welcoming staff, room bit tired but okay, linen on bed needed mending but comfortable, plenty of tea etc each day supplied in room, breakfast very good, lots of choice. We realise it is an old building but the windows did not fit well at all, lots of noise both outside from traffic and the funfair and inside hotel with many early departures. All in all a good stay with good sea views. We dined in restaurant on first night, good food and a reasonable price. We thought the room was over priced for its size and tip If you want to sleep don't have a sea view, which is extra.
